Off-Site Computing News regarding site activity, products, and services.
Off-Site Computing is pleased to announce a fix for the IIS bug related to the content-location field in the TCP header. Last September during the evaluation phase of Sitefinity, the content-location header bug revealed itself through the Url property of the Request object. In addition to affecting the Url property, the bug was observed affecting web service WSDL contracts, RSS feeds, and the server variable "SERVER_NAME". A couple of solutions for the content-location header bug are contained in the Microsoft support article titled, "FIX: IP address is revealed in the content-location field in the TCP header in IIS 6.0". According to the article, the unexpected behavior is the result of IIS receiving a Get request without a host header or a request without a specific page name.
